A Message From President Todd Diacon

Greetings,

People often ask me what the best thing is about being the President of mini´«Ã½. My first response is always ... the people. We are a community. A community of students who inspire us with their curiosity, energy, passion, and intelligence. We are a community of faculty and staff who do their best to educate our students, to advise them, to feed and house them, and to protect them as they progress to graduation. And we are a community of graduates, of alumni, who have gone on to do great things in their professions and in their communities. The best thing about being President of mini´«Ã½ State? The opportunity to interact with outstanding people who collectively form our Golden Flash family.

We are a proud institution providing broad access to the transformative power of a college education. We are, as I like to say, a university not just for the fortunate few, but also for the meritorious many. We are a university that deftly combines cutting-edge research with an unwavering commitment to student success. We are a university that holds both the nation’s top research designation (one of only 146 such universities in America) and that has been recognized as providing the best transition experience for first-generation students.  We are a university that houses a nationally recognized Brain Health Research Center that was recognized recently as having one of the best international programs of any university in the country.

In short, we are mini´«Ã½ State, and it is my distinct pleasure to welcome you to this inspiring community.
